Disabled Children and Young People Have Rights Too!, 23/06/10
This conference looked at how disabled children, young people and their families can be made a national priority in Wales, and also the UK’s reports to the United Nations on the rights of disabled children.
National Child Poverty Conference, 27/05/10
The National Child Poverty Conference, held in Cardiff on 27th May 2010 provided delegates with their first opportunity to debate the issues and challenges on taking action to reduce child poverty in Wales, as a result of new statutory duties outlined within the Children and Families Measure.
How Do We Protect Children In Families Subject to Asylum?, 05/05/10
The conference aimed to highlight the work that has been carried out by Children in Wales and The Welsh Refugee Council in seeking to raise awareness of Child Protection amongst Refugee Community Groups.
A Quiet Revolution, 05/03/10
This conference explored bullying and behaviour management and looked at ways to improve behaviour through embedding shared values within a whole school approach.
The Developing Child 1-3 Years, 23/02/10
The conference, held on 23 February 2010 in Cardiff, aimed to bring together leading policy makers and professionals in the field to review policy and practice around early years (age 1-3) and to highlight good practice examples.
Supporting Parents: Models and Approaches, 10/02/10
This information day explored various models and strategies for engaging and supporting parents.
Rights, Indicators and Outcomes, 24-25/11/09
The Aim of this Annual Conference was to equip policy makers and practitioners across all disciplines in the children and young people’s sector in Wales with the latest essential information to support their work. The conference addressed the current hot topics that the field is currently expected to deliver on: improving the wellbeing of children and young people; measuring outcomes; and combatting child poverty and social exclusion
Best Practice and Lessons Learned, 03/11/09
The Welsh Assembly Government and Children in Wales hosted an event at the Metropole Hotel, Llandrindod Wells on the 3rd of November 2009, to look at, share and celebrate best practice, as identified in the Qualitative Evaluation of Flying Start, undertaken by Ipso Mori for the Welsh Assembly Government and to offer an opportunity to explore how the lessons learnt solutions can help address some of the current challenges.
